HYC is committed to promoting the circular economy and green products/technology. Through innovation and technological development, we help businesses achieve more efficient resource utilization and energy management. We strive to make a positive impact on society and the environment while maintaining sustainable growth and profitability, creating a sustainable future. Here are some of our achievements:
In 2009, HYC obtained the "ISO-14001 Environmental Management System Certification".
In 2011, the boiler system was converted to natural gas fuel, eliminating air pollution from the process while saving energy and reducing carbon emissions.
In 2011, HYC was recognized at the 63rd Nuremberg International Invention Exhibition, winning silver and gold medals for its continuous flexible electric heating pads and environmentally friendly, energy-saving, and long-lasting electronic-grade thermal pressure buffer pads (green products) used in the PCB industry's hot-pressing process. The electronic-grade thermal pressure buffer pads can replace the use of kraft paper, reducing the need to cut down approximately 10 trees and saving 50 barrels (3000 liters) of water per pad.
In 2012, HYC has repeatedly won the "Green Beautification Championship" in national industrial park competitions. Starting in 2002, the company has prioritized greening and environmental protection by planting a large number of green trees within the factory premises. These trees absorb carbon dioxide, which helps reduce the carbon content in the atmosphere, while also absorbing other harmful gases and releasing oxygen, thus improving air quality. Planting trees also helps reduce noise and temperature in the surrounding environment, saving energy consumption. HYC has created a forest factory to provide employees with a healing and refreshing work environment, which contributes to their physical and mental well-being and productivity.
In 2017, replaced all factory lighting with energy-saving LED lights and installed solar panels on the factory roofs, transforming the factory into a green energy facility with a total installed capacity of 1,000 kw, generating at least 1.2 million kWh of electricity annually, making HYC the largest facility in Nantou.
In 2018, the world's lightest and environmentally friendly recyclable thermoplastic composite luggage was launched.
In 2019, developed advanced recycling technologies through in-house product design and machine development, reducing scrap waste and recycling it to lessen dependence on virgin materials.
In 2020, through the process of marketing, researching, developing, and manufacturing green products, we created green value and were awarded the "Chinese Green Enterprise Gold Award".
In 2021, started using environmentally friendly carbon black (low-carbon material) to produce innovative low-carbon conveyor belts (green products), significantly reducing carbon emissions during manufacturing and supporting customers to reduce energy consumption and carbon footprint.
In 2023, HYC's thermoplastic carbon fiber composite material application products (green products) won the "iF Innovation Design Award".
In 2024, the 2nd phase of solar power generation installed within the plant. With a total installed capacity of 1,900 kW, the facility will produce at least 1.7 million kWh of electricity annually.
In 2025, HYC obtained the "ISO-50001 Energy Management System Certification".
HYC's vision is to become a global leader in green technology and products. By continuously innovating and developing sustainable products, we aim to contribute to the sustainable development of the Earth through the circular economy. We hope to join hands with more partners to create a green future together.
2024 Energy Efficiency Investments
In 2024, the company invested NT$656,000 to install motor inverters, reducing motor operating frequency and adding air compressor exhaust fan deflectors to enhance cooling efficiency. Based on actual monitoring and measurements, this initiative is expected to reduce annual electricity consumption by 164,000 kWh. Moving forward, the company will continue optimizing energy efficiency across energy-consuming facilities.
2023 Energy Efficiency Upgrades
In 2023, the company invested NT$578,000 to replace outdated air compressors with energy-efficient models certified with an energy-saving label. According to actual measurements, this upgrade is expected to reduce annual electricity consumption by 167,000 kWh.
This investment is expected to yield significant energy savings and cost reductions over time. The company will continuously track the actual energy-saving benefits to ensure the effectiveness of these measures. Additionally, the old air compressors will be progressively replaced with new, energy-efficient models bearing the energy-saving label, further enhancing the overall efficiency and sustainability of the operations.
By investing in energy-saving equipment, the company not only reduces operational costs but also contributes to environmental sustainability. These efforts are aligned with the company’s commitment to green energy and sustainable practices, reinforcing its role as a responsible corporate citizen dedicated to minimizing its environmental footprint.
